The EZ-FLO Story
EZ-FLO was initially conceptualized by Dan Gilmore in 1994 while spending a day fertilizing his yard. His idea to automate the process stemmed from the amount of time and effort required to treat all aspects of his yard. Traditional fertilization of grass was fairly easy but to take care of the roses, shrubs, vegetable garden and other plants required a considerable amount of time. Thus the idea for a simple automatic proportional injection system was born.
The idea required a few trials to insure the product would produce the desired results which ultimately manifested into his sons 6th grade science fair project. Fortunately the concept was easily proven and Dan set off on developing the system which required many long nights and weekends spent in the garage. After two years of tireless effort, Dan published his first patent of which he was the sole author and formed the corporation, EZ-GRO. It was now time to begin building and selling the technology to the market and with one salesman and a shop crew of two 12 year old boys working weekends in his garage, EZ-GRO began its venture into the irrigation and green industry.
By the year 1998, 4 years after the idea, EZ-GRO had attracted the attention of a couple industry partners and forged some industry alliances which allowed Dan to take the company to the next level and market the systems nationwide through the commercial irrigation channel. In conjunction with introducing the systems to the professional landscape maintenance market Dan continued improving the design with the intent of selling a retail design to a company with a strong market presence. This resulted in further refinement of the EZ-GRO design and several new patents.
By 2002 the business had grown and interest had spread to an international level in the professional and retail markets. With the assistance of venture capital, EZ-FLO Injection Systems, Inc. was formed to serve as the marketing arm for the products EZ-GRO manufactured. Since that time EZ-FLO has grown to be leader in injection equipment for the residential and commercial landscape industry. The equipment is used widely by HOA developments, cities, schools, estates and consumers. The company continues to innovate, create and solve environmental and horticultural problems.
EZ-FLO prides itself on bringing non-hazardous options to the horticultural market and using the EZ-FLO technology to improve the environment. At EZ-FLO we continually test cutting edge products to ensure we are offering best solutions available, to be delivered by our equipment, giving our customers the best value we possibly can. In 2013 EZ-FLO filed for its 10th patent and introduced a new line of injectors for large landscape, golf and agricultural applications.
