Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions about EZ-FLO? Here are the answers our customers ask most.

What is an EZ-FLO system?

EZ-FLO is an automatic fertilizer dispensing system that connects to your garden hose or in-ground irrigation. It uses water pressure to deliver liquid or water-soluble fertilizer directly through your sprinklers or drip lines every time you water. No electricity. No moving parts. Just pick a feed rate, fill the tank, and let it run. Systems come in two types: Main-Line (connects to irrigation plumbing) and Hose & Drip (connects to your outdoor faucet). Both work the same way.

What size landscape can EZ-FLO handle?

Any size. From a small backyard garden to 20+ acres of commercial turf. Homeowners, landscapers, golf courses, nurseries, and municipalities all use EZ-FLO. The system works with every type of sprinkler head, micro-spray, and drip line. It auto-adjusts to different water pressures and flow rates across zones, so you don’t need to recalibrate between spray heads and drip emitters. For larger areas, simply refill more often or choose a bigger tank.

Why is EZ-FLO better than other fertilizing methods?

Five reasons. First, it micro-doses consistently so you never burn your lawn with too much fertilizer. Second, feed rates are adjustable to match the season or plant type. Third, it auto-adjusts to any water pressure, including low-pressure drip zones. Fourth, it works with a wide range of fertilizers, including organics. Fifth, there’s no mixing, no measuring, and no scheduling. It just works every time you water.

Is it hard to install?

No. Hose & Drip systems connect in minutes. Main-Line systems install in under an hour with basic PVC skills. No electrician, no plumber, no special tools. Color-coded fittings make it straightforward. Check our Installation & Use section for step-by-step guides and videos.

What maintenance does it need?

None. There are no moving parts, no electrical components, and nothing to service. The system runs on water pressure alone. Just refill the tank every 4-6 weeks. That’s it. Every unit comes with a 5-year warranty.

How does fertigation affect my plants?

Plants get a small, steady dose of nutrients every time you water instead of a large dump of granular fertilizer every few months. This promotes stronger root systems, better drought resistance, and more consistent growth across your entire landscape. It works on everything: lawns, trees, shrubs, flower beds, and vegetable gardens.

How do I know if the system is working?

Look at the clear output tube. When the system is running, you’ll see colored fertilizer solution flowing through it. To test, turn the cap from Slow to Fast and watch for a color change in the tube. When the color fades to clear, the tank is empty and ready for a refill.

How does EZ-FLO compare to other fertigation systems?

EZ-FLO offers a 5-year warranty (most competitors offer 90 days to 2 years). It requires zero maintenance and has no moving parts. It works with any sprinkler type or drip system without recalibration. It supports a wider range of fertilizers than most alternatives. And it installs without electricity or programming. See our full comparison on the How We Compare page.

What fertilizers can I use?

Any water-soluble, non-hazardous fertilizer. Our MAXX-PRODUCTS line is formulated specifically for EZ-FLO systems, including fertilizers, repellents, and soil supplements. You can also use brands like Jack’s, Peters, or Miracle-Gro, plus organic options like fish emulsion and seaweed extract. Avoid non-organic pesticides or fungicides.

Can one fertilizer feed my whole landscape?

Yes. Different plants absorb the nutrients they need and ignore the rest. Our MAXX-PRODUCTS formulas contain a balanced mix of macro and micronutrients that support lawns, trees, shrubs, and flowers from a single tank fill. No risk of nutrient buildup or soil damage.

My soil is too acidic, alkaline, or heavy clay. Can EZ-FLO help?

Yes. Ideal soil pH sits between 6.5 and 7.0. Heavy clay restricts water and air flow to roots. Our MAXX-PRODUCTS line includes soil conditioners and pH adjusters that you can run through your EZ-FLO system to improve soil quality over time, automatically, with every watering cycle.
